The Albany Police Department is now accepting applications

The Albany Police Department’s Basic Firearms Safety Course for citizens will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. at the Law Enforcement Center in the Community Room. The eight hour class, which is open to citizens 21 years of age or older, will cover basic handgun safety, legal issues, and handling skills needed to deploy a handgun for self-defense.

Applicants will have to sign a release and authorize the Albany Police Department to conduct a background check to determine eligibility for the course.
