Welcome to the Albany Fire Department. The department consists of three major areas: Fire Services, 911 Communications, and Emergency Management. There are 216 allocated positions within the Department and several part-time employees.
The Department has a State of the Art 911 Communications Center that dispatches for Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement County-wide. The Albany Fire Department is a modern, all-hazards fire department equipped with enhanced regional hazmat and water rescue capabilities.
With employees trained extensively in their respective fields, they maintain high standards of fire and life safety within the 328.69 square miles of our coverage area which includes Albany and Dougherty County, Georgia.
The Department has 11 Fire Stations and protects a population of approximately 87,956 people. The department has an ISO rating of 2/2X.
Shared Responsibility, Shared Accountability, Shared Success
Dougherty County and the CodeRED Emergency Notification System has established an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications.
CodeRED will only be used in the event of an emergency requiring immediate notification and information entered into the database will not be used for any other purpose. Questions should be directed to the Emergency Management Agency.
