Department Role
The Finance Department is responsible for safeguarding the fiscal integrity of the City of Albany through the development and implementation of sound financial policies and practices.
The Finance Department is also responsible for maintaining the City's overall financial stability through sound financial planning and management. Financial Statements
The Finance Department is responsible for the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America; this includes the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls and fair presentation of financial statements that are free of material misstatements. The documents below include the most recent internally generated financial statements and a copy of the most recent audited financial statements.
Budget Documents
The Finance Department is also responsible for the compilation of the budget documents to be adopted by the City of Albany Commissioners. The most recent annual budget documents below include the budget book and the budget in brief. The budget in brief is a user-friendly document compiled to help assist with the comprehension of the budget documents.
Financial Management Policy
The Finance Department is also responsible for the review and compliance of the financial management policy adopted by the City of Albany Commissioners.
