Rehabilitation of Sanitary Lift Stations 81 & 83 Coming

Albany, GA (September 10, 2019) – The Mayor and City Commissioners approved the contract with POPCO of Sylvester, GA for the rehabilitation of Lift Station (LS) #81 and #83 for a total expenditure of $759,364.00.

The scope of work will include the re-piping of two existing submersible type Lift Stations. Sanitary Lift Stations #81 and #83 will consist of re-piping both the wet well and valve pit piping, installing permanent bypass piping connections, providing temporary bypass pumping, and installing concrete driveways. Base elbows, check valves, and isolation plug valves on LS #81 and LS #83 will be provided by the City but installed by the Contractor. POPCO has performed satisfactory work on previous projects and has met all qualifications for the award.

Phil Roberson, Assistant City Manager, stated, “The City of Albany recently completed the $1.5 million Priority Lift Station rehabilitation project. The LS 81 and 83 rehabilitation projects approved today are included in the Sewer Divisions annual capital replacement program that is designed to keep all of the City’s 108 Storm, and Sanitary Stations and the Joshua Street Waste Water Treatment Plant upgraded and in good working order.”
