The Mayor and Commissioners value constructive and relevant citizen comments and thoughts on agenda matters and general business matters of the City. Please note that protocol is followed before addressing the Mayor and Commissioners.

To speak and provide comments before the full Commission, an opportunity for public participation has been set aside during each Commission Work Session (see Commission Meeting Dates under the Clerk’s tab).

To provide a comment on a Work Session Agenda Item, the Commission requires your registration for the record. This “Comment Registration” form will be provided at the Work Session Meetings (Check the desk in the back of the Commission Chambers) or you may access the form through the following link:

You may submit this form to the City Clerk at any time prior to the Agenda Item being heard by the Commission at the meeting; simply complete and deliver to the Clerk’s Desk in the Chambers (there will be a 3-minute time limit to speak).

This form is only used for the Work Session, there are no Citizen Comments during the Regular Business Meeting (fourth Tuesday of each month).

To address the Commission during the Work Session on a matter of City business not included as an Agenda Item, the Commission requires a registration to speak at least one week prior to the meeting (you will be given a 5-minute time limit to speak).

The Speaker Registration form is available in the City Clerk’s Office, or you may sign-up online by completing the form at the following Link:

Per Ordinance 21-137 adopted, December 2, 2021, "No person addressing the Commission may use the public participation privilege for the purpose of advertising.  Advertising is defined as 'promoting by making known, proclaiming publicly, drawing attention to, or making conspicuous any item, product, service or thing for profit or otherwise.'"

RECOGNITION at the Work Session Meeting will be made by the Mayor.

TIPS for a successful Commission visit:

  • Wait to be recognized by the Mayor before addressing the Commission.
  • Look for the Mayor to manage your opportunity to speak, comment or answer member questions during the Work Session.
  • If you have handouts, please provide the City Clerk (preferably by attaching to the form) or at least 10 copies prior to your comments.
  • Groups or delegations are encouraged to identify an individual to address the Commission on behalf of the group.
  • Observe the time constraints for citizen input.
