The Civil Division works with engineers, developers and citizens as well as other City/County departments. We provide engineering services, such as Design and Inspection. We also address infrastructure concerns from an engineering standpoint. We strive to meet the needs of our customers and look forward to continuing to serve the City of Albany/Dougherty County in the future.
The Civil Division is responsible for field surveying, drafting and design of civil projects within the City of Albany. Designs are produced utilizing Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) technology.
Construction Standards Manual
The City of Albany Construction Standards Manual was updated on 09/09/2016. Significant changes were made to the 6000 SERIES (Erosion Control) on 07/25/2016. The City of Albany Construction Standards Manual is subject to change without notice. Please verify with the City of Albany Engineering Department that there have been no changes made to any of the standards before using.
Note: Additional best management practices and construction details for erosion, sediment, and pollution control are available in the current edition of the "Manual for Erosion & Sediment Control in Georgia" and from the Georgia soil and water conservation commission.
