The City has in-house surveying services operating under the supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor. They work in support of many of the departments within the City of Albany. The surveying group locates and marks city street right of ways for civil design projects and risk assessments. We provide boundary surveys and legal descriptions for property being sold or acquired by the City of Albany. The group provides field locations for current easements and surveys for new easements being acquired in support of civil engineering projects. Topographic Surveys are prepared for our civil engineers as the base maps for civil design projects.
We also support our GIS Mapping Department. The main purpose of the GIS mapping crews is to inventory utility infrastructures that are presently managed by the City of Albany, as well as produce an updated and easy to maintain map and database. Each utility system has its own database that can be shared across the City’s computer network and integrated with existing engineering, planning, and maintenance operations within the organization.
The City of Albany does not provide Land Surveying services to the public. If you have need of a survey for your property, contact one of our local Surveying or Civil Engineering firms for these services.
