Derrick L. Brown 

Derrick L. Brown is a native Albanian who attended Monroe Comprehensive High School. After graduation, he attended Albany State University as a member of the inaugural class of Presidential Scholarship recipients. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce as the highest ranking student in the School of Business.

While spending 18 years at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company before its closure, Derrick was able to garner a wealth of knowledge and experience in operations management and accounting. This includes obtaining a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Management from Kettering University (formerly GMI Engineering & Management Institute). Since joining the City of Albany, Derrick has received the Certified Local Government Finance Officer designation from the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government and the Certified Retirement Plan Fiduciary designation from the Georgia Association of Public Pension Trustees.
