The Sewer Division:
- Operates and maintains the City of Albany's wastewater and combination sanitary and stormwater collection system, 108 pump and and lift stations, the 32 MGD capacity wastewater treatment plant and monitors industrial wastewater discharges.

Operates 24 hours a day. 7 days a week, with on-call staff available to assist citizens with sewer related problems after hours.

Complies with regulations of two (2) Georgia Environment Protection Division permits: (1) NPDES Permit # GA 0037222 for the wastewater conveyance and treatment systems. (2) NPDES Permit # GA 0036854 for the combined sewer overflow (CSO) during heavy rain events.
